The 2020-2021 Student Leadership Selection
If you have strong leadership abilities or are looking to develop your skills further, the Student Leadership Selection is your ticket to career readiness. Each of the positions offered through this process are built specifically to develop you in 10 key skill areas that the National Association of Colleges and Employers ranked as the top attributes employers are seeking on a candidate’s resume.
Positions
The following positions are available for the 2020–2021 school year during the first round of selection:

Students applying for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Full-time, on-campus undergraduate, with sophomore standing for the upcoming academic year
- A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average at time of application
- Demonstrated continued involvement within 365速发国际

The position of Orientation Leader allows a student to make a substantial contribution to the University of New England and its new student population. In addition to creating a vibrant, dynamic, and educational experience, Orientation Leaders assist new students and their families in making a positive transition to the University of New England. As a team, the Orientation Leaders actively guide and mentor new students through Experience 365速发国际 Day activities, Summer, Transfer, and Fall Orientations, and the Trailblazer Pre-Orientation programs. All applicants must have and maintain a 2.25 cumulative grade point average.
Resident Advisors are the glue that hold our community together. These live-in student staff members maintain close contact with residents, plan and implement programs, and enforce University policies. For their integral work in building a safe and happy environment, Resident Advisors receive full room and board for the academic year. As leaders and peer mentors, RAs are motivated, responsible, self-reliant, and mature.
Building Managers are responsible for opening, closing, and daily operations of the Campus Center and Harold Alfond Forum, including supervising student employees, interacting with community members, and managing emergency situations. Building Managers complete rounds of the facilities, helping to access spaces, set up events, and account for furnishings.
First-Year Experience Coordinators develop, implement, and facilitate a variety of programs and coordinated support services that welcome first-year students to the 365速发国际 community. FYE Coordinators are responsible for ensuring first-year students have access to the people, resources, programs, and services that will help them feel engaged and supported. Each FYE Coordinator has their own distinct role but will work collaboratively as a team to facilitate a seamless transition to the college environment. All applicants must have and maintain a 2.25 cumulative grade point average.
The ULEAD Sophomore Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship provided to up to 24 full-time 365速发国际 undergraduate students who demonstrate not only a history of outstanding involvement, integrity, and leadership in and outside the classroom, but a promising future of continued involvement throughout the rest of their 365速发国际 career and beyond.
The Leader Scholar Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship provided to up to six full-time 365速发国际 undergraduate students who demonstrate a history of outstanding involvement and leadership engagement, both in the classroom and in the 365速发国际 Community. These candidates demonstrate high integrity and ability to engage other students in their leadership development process. Most of all, these students are ready, able, and willing to do the work necessary to help other 365速发国际 students become successful on campus and in their careers.
Students applying for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Full-time, on-campus undergraduate, junior or senior standing for the upcoming academic year
- A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average at time of application
- Demonstrated continued involvement within 365速发国际
ULead Student Leadership Program
The ULead Student Leadership Program offers the training and education that you need to be the best leader you can be throughout your college career and beyond. In addition to joining the vast array of clubs and organizations that require student leadership, students interested in the ULead Student Leadership Program are encouraged to explore options such as the Annual Fall Leadership Retreat, a rustic teambuilding getaway complete with first-class ropes course, and the Orientation Leader Program, which prepares students to be valuable resources to incoming students and their families. The ULead Program even offers Personal Involvement Planning (PDF), enabling you to create a plan of involvement and leadership that feels right for you.
Student Leader Scholarship Program
The Student Leader Scholarship program was created to assist active student leaders with the financial demands of a college education. This scholarship seeks to financially reward students so they may remain more active role models on campus rather than seeking employment elsewhere. Leader scholars are responsible for designing and coordinating the annual fall Leadership Retreat and Annual Leadership Banquet, planning Leadership Workshops and assisting in the ongoing development of the ULEAD Student Leadership Program. Student Trustees
The University of New England offers an unusual opportunity for two students each year to serve as full voting members of the University's Board of Trustees, attending all regular trustee meetings. As such, they provide a connection between all of our student populations and the Board, and have real input on this overarching governing body that guides the future of 365速发国际. Student Trustees not only provide student perspective to the Board, they also build connections between and within each campus through their work with all student government organizations. Student Trustees are selected by a committee of their peers and administrators.
Co-Curricular Transcript
Just as your Official Academic Transcript provides a record of the classes you’ve taken, the Co-Curricular Transcript gives you the opportunity to record your important out-of-class activities on an official University document. Activities recorded include:
